Hospitality since 1973

A life's work in milestones

With courage, diligence and a good sense for trends and especially the wishes of the guests, my grandparents built our house in 1973. To continue and develop what you have created is a matter close to my heart.

Thank you both for everything!

OPENING OF THE ZWEITE HEIMAT

Hospitable, cozy, enjoyable: after the modernization of our à la carte restaurant, we open the Zweite Heimat shortly before Christmas.

In the ambience decorated with great attention to detail, we serve homemade, seasonal specialties for hotel guests, Willinger and all lovers of culinary delights.

No problem: with treadmill, cross trainer and weight station you help your fitness on the jump, before it goes to relax in our wellness area.

THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO

Bathrooms, balconies, hallways, furnishings, gym and stairwells - with 75 rooms spread over 3 buildings, you never really get done.

In addition, the months of lockdown during the Corona pandemic had to be used wisely ....

WITH DANIELA MEYER THE GRANDDAUGHTER GETS ON BOARD

Anyone who grows up in a hotel business, first works in nursing and then says yes to the hotel industry, knows what his heart beats for.

With our granddaughter joining the limited partnership, we know that our life's work is in the best hands.

KITCHEN REMODEL AND NEW CHEF

After the extensive reconstruction the kitchen of the hotel restaurant offers best conditions for the new chef.

Since then, Christoph Schulte-Vieting, a top chef with experience from renowned hotels worldwide, takes care of the physical well-being of our guests.

FORUM NORDICUM

The Forum Nordicum, hosted by SC Willingen, is all about ski jumping.

For this special occasion, we welcome several Olympic champions to our hotel, including ski jumping icon Jens Weißflog.

REDESIGN OF OUR LOBBY

The entrance area gets a new face - for a warm welcome and just as warm farewell.

THE LODGE BY THE LAKE IS FOLLOWED BY THE HOTEL BY THE LAKE

The hotel pension Wald-Eck, only 50 m from the lake and the cottage, is acquired. Its acquisition is accompanied by a complete reconstruction and extension. The Hotel Waldhaus am See is opened with 56 beds, swimming pool, 2 saunas, forest barn for events and seminars, restaurant and Auerhahnstube. Ideal for vacations, meetings and celebrations.

ON THE 35TH ANNIVERSARY: GOOD. BETTER. CARPE DIEM.

Wellness vacationers want massages and beauty offers; and will find them from 12.10.2008 also in the Sporthotel Eimberg. The new Spa Carpe Diem offers well-being from head to toe: with cosmetic treatments, rose petal champagne baths and various packs and massages in 4 treatment rooms. At the same time, the look back: to 35 happy and successful years. A specially published hotel newspaper brings them entertainingly to the point.

WOULD YOU LIKE SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE TRADITIONAL?

How about a sociable log cabin, right on a romantically situated lake with trout, carp and sturgeon? But we'd love to. In the nearby Hoppecke Valley, the Meyer family buys a 20,000 m² site with a 5,000 m² lake and builds a rustic cabin there with a fireplace, bar terrace and seating for 50 people - inside and outside.

THE EIMBERG FOCUSES ON EVEN MORE WELLNESS

An outdoor pool that can be used all year round and can be reached via a swim-out channel from the indoor pool. Additional saunas, experience showers, a stylish relaxation area and a spacious sunbathing lawn - the sauna landscape is transformed into a wellness landscape within six months of construction.

THE "ZICK ZACK" BECOMES AN EXPERIENCE GASTRONOMY - AS BEER BAR AND BAR

Sophisticated lighting technology ensures that the beer bar transforms into a "zig-zag bar" from 7 p.m. and in a matter of seconds - for a carefree vacation mood with dance music, soups, pretzels and small snacks until midnight.

FOR THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY IT GETS HOT

A spacious sauna area and the opening of a light-flooded hotel and exhibition hall perfectly round off the extension, which was completed in 1992. According to the hotel brochure at the time, the crowning glory - at least for a few years ;)

ALREADY MORE THAN FULLY BOOKED AGAIN!

Only six years after the first extension, capacities are once again insufficient. With 32 additional comfort rooms and luxury apartments, the number of beds is increased to a proud 150. In addition, there is another banquet hall for up to 180 people, which can be divided into up to 3 meeting rooms with folding doors.

IT'S GOING WITH THE SEMINARS AND THE BANQUET BUSINESS!

So well that the Sauerlandstube is being converted into a multifunctional room for variable use as a lounge, banquet or conference room. At the same time, the community TV room will be transformed into another seminar room and equipped with the latest communication technology.

DEMOLITION OF THE CAFÉ "ZICK ZACK" AND HOTEL EXTENSION

18 additional rooms, a completely new restaurant, the conversion of the dining room into a cozy Sauerlandstube, 2 conference rooms for 40 and 1 meeting room for 80 people and a spacious sun terrace - only 9 years after opening, the beloved Zick-Zack has to be demolished to virtually double the capacity and pave the way for the entry into conference tourism.

THE LOG HOUSE IS BEING BUILT

23 comfort double rooms with TV and covered balcony. Indoor swimming pool with counter-current, sauna, tanning salon, a bar with bar, fireplace and dance floor, a dining room with wood-paneled walls, real furs and upholstery coordinated in every detail - the construction of the Sporthotel Zum Hohen Eimberg combines relaxation and activity and set standards in the end of the 70s in terms of modernity, comfort and exclusivity - far beyond the borders of Willingen.

THE ZIG-ZAG OPENS ITS DOORS

The name was the program for the Scandinavian-style café with a bar that Arnold and Alwine Meyer opened on June 7, 1973, right next to their house. Inside, zigzag corners with seating niches all around, plus a fireplace and a bar on the same principle for a total of up to 20 people. Outside a zig-zag terrace with "coffee tables and a summer meadow in front of the restaurant, which is ideal for sunbathing, ball games and the like" (according to the WLZ edition of 07.06.73).

THE FIRST STEP

Arnold and Alwine Meyer build their home at Hoher Eimberg 3 in Willingen on a 1600 m² meadow.
